Who are the organizers of the 5th International Scientific Congress “Applied and 21st FIEPS European Congress?
The National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski”, Sofia, Bulgaria and FIEPS Europe (European Section of the International Federation of Physical Education and Sport) are the main organizers of this event.
When and where will the 5th International Scientific Congress “Applied Sports Sciences” and the 21st FIEPS European Congress 2027 take place?
The Congress will be held on 3 – 4 December 2027 at the National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski”, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Who can participate in the Congress?
The Congress is open to scientists, researchers, PhD students, undergraduates, and practitioners in the field of sport, physical education and physiotherapy.
What does the registration fee include?
The in-person registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions, congress materials, certificate of attendance, welcome cocktail, coffee breaks, gala dinner (3 December 2027) and gala performance (4 December 2027).
Can I get an invoice for the registration fee?
Yes. Following your registration, instructions for the necessary invoice details will be sent to the email address you provided. Payment of the congress fee is required before an invoice can be issued. Once your payment is complete, please email your billing details to congress@nsa.bg. The final invoice will be emailed to you as soon as the payment is confirmed.
What is the deadline for registration and abstract submission?
The deadline for registration and abstract submission is 15 October 2027.
The deadline for registration only is 10 November 2027.
In what formats can I present my research?
The available presentation formats are:
- Oral presentation;
- Poster presentation.
When will I find out if my abstract has been accepted?
The Scientific Committee will contact all authors by 25 October to notify them of the status of their submission and the presentation format.
Will the congress papers be published?
Yes, all accepted and presented abstracts will be published in the Congress Abstract Book with an ISBN. Additionally, full-text papers will have the opportunity to be published in a journal of your choice. You can find the list of partnering journals on the congress webpage https://www.icass2027.com
Do the organizers provide accommodation?
The Organizing Committee has negotiated special rates for congress participants at the Guest House of the National Sports Academy and several nearby hotels. More information and discount codes can be found in the “Accommodation” section.
How do I get to the National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski”?
The National Sports Academy (NSA) is located in the Studentski Grad (Student Town) district in Sofia. You can reach the campus using the following transport options:
- By Metro & Bus: Take Metro Line M1 or M4 to the “G.M. Dimitrov” station. From there, take Bus 94 or 280 and get off at the “National Sports Academy” stop.
- Bus 102 and Bus 294 also stop right next to the campus.
- By Taxi: A taxi ride from the Sofia Airport or the city center takes about 15–20 minutes and costs approximately €8 – €13. We recommend using official taxi companies.

Do I need a visa to attend the congress?
Bulgaria is a member of the EU and the Schengen Area. Citizens of the EU, EEA, and many other countries do not require a visa for short-term stays. If you travel from a country that requires a visa, we highly recommend applying well in advance.
Can I get an official Invitation Letter for visa purposes?
Yes, the Organizing Committee can issue an official Letter of Invitation, but only after successful registration and completed payment of the registration fee. You can request the letter by contacting us at congress@nsa.bg with your passport details.
