Young Researchers Award Contest
The Young Researcher Award recognizes the exceptional work of emerging scholars in sport science.
Eligibility Criteria
For the purposes of this contest, a “young researcher” is defined as a person who carries out research and educational activities at a higher education institution or a scientific organization after obtaining a first educational and qualification degree of “Master’s”, but no more than 10 years after acquiring it.
Requirements:
- Candidates must submit a research abstract to the 5th International Congress „Applied Sports Sciences“ and the 21st FIEPS European Congress.
- Candidates are required to present their work at the congress, either through an oral presentation or a poster session.
The prize for the winner will be announced shortly!
Evaluation Criteria
Submitted abstracts and presentations will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Originality & Innovation: The work must be unpublished (and not accepted for publication at the time of submission) and must present novel approaches or findings.
- Scientific Quality: A clear description of the study’s background and its importance in the field, accurate use of field-specific scientific terminology, sound research methods, and high data integrity.
- Relevance & Impact: The research should have clear applications in sports or exercise science, focusing on its impact on performance, health, or well-being. The study should demonstrate a substantial current impact or high potential for future discoveries.
- Presentation Quality: The oral or poster presentation must be well-organized, visually appealing, use high-quality visuals, and deliver a concise, logical conclusion.
Selection & Application
- Award Selection Committee: The winner will be chosen by a 5-member panel consisting of three members from the Scientific Committee and two from the Organizing Committee.

Best Poster Awards (Open to All)
Apart from the Young Researcher competition, all congress participants
presenting a poster are automatically eligible for the Best Poster Awards.
Three awards will be presented to the top poster presentations, regardless of the presenter’s academic rank, age, or career stage.Eligibility
- All accepted poster presentations at the International Congress of Applied Sports Sciences are automatically entered into the competition.
Evaluation Criteria
A dedicated judging panel will evaluate the posters during the scheduled poster sessions based on the following:
- Visual Design & Clarity: The poster must be visually appealing, well-structured, and easy to read from a distance, utilizing high-quality graphics and charts.
- Scientific Merit: Conciseness and logical flow of the presented data, clear methodology, and well-supported conclusions.
- Presentation & Engagement: The presenter’s ability to effectively communicate their research and confidently answer questions during the discussion session.
Announcement of Winners: The three winners of the Best Poster Awards will be officially announced and recognized during the Closing Ceremony of the Congress.
